We believe that what we do within each ministry should flow purposefully out of what we value and love. Whether you have a family of five, or are single and love to ride your mountain bike, you'll find a place to help you grow and experience God.
All of our ministries at Antioch are multi-purpose. First and foremost, each ministry has as its primary purpose to glorify God.
Beyond that, some ministries, such as the Children and Youth ministries, exist to disciple (grow) target groups. Some reach out to draw new people into the church, while others seek to strengthen, grow, and encourage our current members. Some target specific age groups, while others minister to all ages.
Finally, all of our ministries provide opportunities to serve. At Antioch, we are looking for inspired, gifted, and committed Christians to be servant leaders in our ministries. Our wide variety of ministries provide many diverse opportunities to serve an infinite God.
We encourage you to get involved with one or more of our ministries. Start with learning and growing. Over time, you'll be equipped to move into a role of serving others.
Please pray and seek God's will about joining our ministries here at Antioch.
"Train a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6.
Here at Antioch we trust in the truth of the Word. In our Children's Ministry, we teach the Biblical principles that our children will need to navigate through the trials and temptations that they will face as they grow older.
We are seeking volunteers to serve in our Children's Ministry. If God has gifted you to serve in this capacity, please contact the Church Office at 910-739-9425.
Compassion for You
Our Compassion for You ministry exists to reach out to our congregation and community to show the love and compassion of Christ. Through a variety of means, we seek to provide comfort, fellowship, and encouragement to those in need.
Compassion for You is by far our most varied ministry; we have teams for providing meals, writing cards, visiting, providing transportation, and more. There is a place here for you to serve with the gifts God has given you! Please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425 if you're interested in joining this ministry.
"For you always have the poor with you..." Jesus tells us that there will always be some among us who struggle to meet their daily needs. Even in good economies, some families don't have enough to eat. At Antioch, we believe that God desires to use His people to help meet the needs of the poor among us.
To answer that call, Antioch sponsors a Food Pantry every Thursday. Through this ministry, we share the love of Christ while helping to meet the basic needs of our community. The food we provide is either donated or purchased with donated funds through the Second Harvest Food Bank. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425.
The sad yet honest truth is that much of the problems we see in American society today is because men are not stepping up and filling the Biblical roles for which God created them. Antioch's Men's Ministry works to lead men to discover the blessings that God has in store for them when they walk in obedience to His Word.
Men, please come participate in our Men's Ministry and enjoy great godly fellowship. Also, please plan to attend our upcoming Men's Conference March 27-28.
If you're interested in becoming a ministry leader, please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425.
Throughout the Bible, people lift up their voices in song to praise God. So at Antioch, Music Ministry is a vital part of our worship. Our music is vibrant and varied. While we love those old traditional hymns, we recognize that we serve an infinite God Who still inspires His people to write new songs, and create new arrangements for older ones. The music in our services is a balance of the traditional and the contemporary.
If God is leading you to use your musical talent to serve in the Music Ministry, please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425 and ask for Pastor Doug.
Here at Antioch, the phrase "Serving Seniors" has two meanings. First, we follow the biblical mandates to respect our Senior Adults, so we strive to love and serve our seniors. The second meaning is that Antioch is blessed to have Senior Adults that serve!
The Senior Adult Ministry is very active. Its members serve in other ministries at our church, and they also enjoy fellowship activities throughout the year.
Interesting in serving or joining our Senior Adult Ministry? Please contact the Church Office at 910-739-9425 and ask for Pastor Keith Eggert.
Our volunteers in the Usher Ministry are in the Worship Center well before our morning and evening services begin, greeting our visitors with engaging smiles and warm handshakes. We also have a Welcoming Committee that assists the ushers in greeting our guests. These volunteers also staff the Welcome Center in the vestibule and hand out the bulletins for the worship services.
Our prayer is that these ministries make you feel welcome here. If you're already a member with the gift of hospitality and would like to serve, please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425.
Ladies were very important in the ministry of Jesus (cf. Luke 8:1-3, Matt 28:5-10), and they are also very important to Antioch. Sisters of Strength (SOS) is an active group of ladies of all ages, working together to serve Antioch and our community.
SOS meets monthly and is always planning or conducting an event, either for service or for fellowship. Recently they worked with the Children's Ministry to deliver Valentine's gifts to shut ins. SOS is also planning to take a group of ladies to the Rise Up Ladies Conference in Myrtle Beach May 1-3.
If you're interested in joining SOS, please call our office at 910-739-9425.
Our Young Adult ministry reaches out to the "College and Career" age group. The age range typically ranges from the late teens to around 30-35.
Churches across the country struggle to effectively reach this age group. Many young adults are focused on college studies, starting their careers, or starting a family. Unfortunately, church is sometimes not a priority. Our goal is to reach those in this group, show them that God's Word provides a solid foundation for their lives, and lead them to grow and serve.
If you're in this group, please join us! If you're interested in serving with this group, please contact the Church Office at 910-739-9425 and ask for Pastor Kevin.
Today's youth face challenges and temptations unlike those of any previous generation of youth. Drugs and alcohol are readily available, even to the younger youth. Some abuse social media to mislead, shame, and bully other youth. Pornography is readily available on any media device, including cell phones. The Word of God is the only weapon that can combat and conquer the evil our youth are facing.
If you're looking for a challenging, yet rewarding, place to serve, maybe there's a place for you here in our Youth Ministry. Please call the Church Office at 910-739-9425 and ask to speak to Pastor Kevin.
