Jesus said "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 19:14 (NKJV)
Here at Antioch, we do not believe, as some do, that children are the "church of the future." Instead, we believe that children are the church right here and now. They take an active role in our services and in our ministries.
We also recognize that our children face problems, challenges, and temptations to a much greater degree than previous generations. To help them stand strong on God's Word, and to instill a biblical worldview, we founded the Antioch Christian Academy, which serves grades K-12. To give children an even earlier start, we also have a Pre-K Program.
Most Sundays, children attend a separate worship service that is better suited to their ages. But in these services, they learn to usher, pray, sing, and serve in other capacities.
The first Sunday of every month is Family Day; on these days there is no separate Children's Worship, and the children attend the regular worship service with their families. Children's and Preschool Choirs or Creative Ministries are sometimes featured in these family services.
Our children also serve in the community. During the Christmas season, and other times throughout the year, the children visit our shut-ins and nursing facilities to minister to our "Senior Saints."
In accordance with Proverbs 22:6, our hope and prayer is that the work we are doing with children now will lead to their continued church attendance and serving as they grow older.
